BGT™ Acy-Hexa-P8, also known as Acetyl hexapeptide-8 or Argireline, is a high-quality wrinkle-removing cosmetic ingredient with notable anti-wrinkle activity and minimal side effects. Widely used in various cosmetic products, BGT™ Acy-Hexa-P8 targets nerve terminal cells and competes with SNAP-25 in the fusion vesicle complex, destabilizing it slightly and reducing the effective release of neurotransmitters. This reduction in neurotransmitter release leads to less acetylcholine being secreted by nerve cells, thereby limiting muscle contraction and preventing wrinkle and fine line formation. In a study involving 45 volunteers aged 25 to 60 with periorbital wrinkles, participants applied a 10% Acy-Hexa-P8 (oil/water) emulsion to their crow’s feet twice daily. After four weeks, the results indicated a 49% improvement in the appearance of wrinkles among 22 of the 45 subjects.
