AdvensProtect 6

AdvensProtect 6 is a multifunctional cosmetic ingredient with very good moisturizing properties and as a good solubilizer for lipophilic ingredients. It will work synergistically with traditional preservative actives and other antimicrobial substances in personal care formulations and is often co-formulated with AdvensProtect 8 (caprylyl glycol) or phenoxyethanol and is used to replace parabens. It acts as a moisturizing agent with short lipophilic chain attaches to the lipid structures orientating the hydrophobic part of the molecule to the upper skin layers for better moisture retention. It is particularly known as a non-irritant in especially very sensitive applications areas like facial masks, intimate hygiene products. It reduces the surface energy and therefore the contact angle of water on the hydrophobic surfaces of the skin, giving better moisture distribution.
